Hand of Mercy was a hardcore / melodic hardcore band from Sydney, Australia, founded in 2007 .

history

The band, founded in Sydney in 2007, most recently consisted of Scott Bird (vocals), Adam McLean (guitar), Josh Zimmer (guitar), Michael Dawson (bass) and Cullum Mackinnon (drums).

The group released two self-produced EPs, Trash the Party (2007) and Scum of the Earth (2008) . The musicians also financed their debut album The Fallout , which was released in 2010, out of their own pockets. At the regional level, the group has already played with bands such as A Day to Remember , The Ghost Inside , The Amity Affliction and August Burns Red . In January 2012, the band played their first notable concert tour as the main support act for Parkway Drive . This was called the Sick Summer II Tour and led through Australia.

Hand of Mercy have now signed a record deal with the Australian label UNFD , which financed the band's second album. It was called Last Lights and was released in August 2012. In October 2013 the group toured Europe as opening act for Northlane , Hundredth , Betraying the Martyrs , I Killed the Prom Queen , Carnifex and Emmure . The concerts took place as part of the Impericon Never Say Die! Tour takes place.

In December 2013 Hand of Mercy played on the Warped Tour in Australia. In September 2014, the group released a music video for the song Desperate Measures . This can be found on the album Resolve , which will be released in October 2014 via UNFD and in November via Rise Records .

After a concert tour in Australia as support for Buried in Verona in September and October 2015, the band split up. For January 2016, the band announced a one-time reunion for an appearance at the Australian Unify Gathering Festival.
