Shai Hulud is an American mathcore / hardcore punk band from Pompano Beach , Florida (later the band moved to Poughkeepsie , New York ).
The band is named after the sandworms of the same name from the desert planet from Frank Herbert's science fiction novel Dune . It is characterized by complex song structures and is currently under contract with Metal Blade Records .
