More Than A Thousand was a metalcore band from Setúbal , Portugal . They played metalcore in the style of the Cancer Bats and OneSideZero .
Band history
The band was founded in 2001 by Vasco Ramos, Filipe Oliveira and Sérgio Sousa in Setúbal (Portugal). After several EPs , the band moved to London in 2005 . The band recorded their debut album The Hollow in 2006 in Umeå , Sweden with producers Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrm ( Refused , Poison the Well ). The debut album is a continuation of the previous EP Trailers Are Always More Exciting Than Movies and a concept album about the band's history.
After a tour with Metallica and Mastodon followed the EP Volume III: Mar (EP), which was recorded in Portugal and mixed in New York by Alan Douches ( Every Time I Die , Converge ). In January 2008 the band performed at the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen . In 2009 the second full album Volume IV: Make Friends and Enemies was created with producer Paul Leavitt in Baltimore . After a tour in the opening act of 30 Seconds to Mars , a European tour followed as headliner.
In 2016 the band announced their breakup. To say goodbye, a farewell concert was played in Lisbon on December 10th. In January 2018, former singer Vasco Ramos announced a solo project called XANDE .
