Marathon Man is a founded in 2011, post-hardcore - band from Munich .

history

Marathonmann was founded in autumn 2011. In the summer of 2012, the EP was released, The city belongs to the best , the title song of which appeared on the CD supplement of the punk magazine Ox-Fanzine . It became a hit scene through which the Century Media label became aware of the band. The band then toured with Casper , Comeback Kid and Living with Lions.

The debut album Holzschwert was released on Century Media in spring 2013. Tom Mischok from Adolar , Richard Meyer from KMPFSPRT and Guido Knollmann from the Donots were guest singers. For the release of Holzschwert , the band went on tour with Heisskalt in March 2013 , immediately afterwards as the opening act for Itchy Poopzkid .

For a sampler for Metal Hammer magazine they recorded a cover version of the Motörhead song Bite the Bullet , which was also available as a bonus track from Holzschwert on iTunes .

In 2013 guitarist Thomas Fischer left the band and was replaced by Christian Wölk. At the end of 2013, Marathonmann completed a 17-day headlining tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. At the beginning of 2014 they were on tour as the opening act for Jennifer Rostock . At the same time the EP No Retreat No Abandon was released as a download and limited 12inch vinyl .

The second album ... and we forget what lies ahead was released in 2014 and reached number 46 in the German album charts . After Marcel Konhäuser left in 2015, Johannes Scheer became the new drummer.

In 2017 the song Rücklauf was used in the German Netflix series Dark .

style

The band is assigned to the genre of post-hardcore . Captain Planet , Muff Potter and Turbo State are named as major influences . Sometimes emocore elements are recognized or the marathon man is classified as a punk band .
