Adolar was an alternative band from Stendal that existed from 2008 to 2014 and produced five albums.

history

Adolar was founded on January 21, 2008. The four band members originally came from Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt . The band name is borrowed from a Hungarian animated series ( Adolars fantastic adventures ).

In 2009, the three-track appeared vinyl - EP Planet Rapidia on Bottom average in an edition of 500 copies, which sold out in three months. A video for the song Mariokart Vs Kettcar was shot in Garzweiler III and Cologne- Chorweiler . In 2010 the band toured England, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. In March 2010 the debut album Swearing Lakes, their fateful years! which was recorded in a church. In 2011, Unterm Average announced the band's second album. Adolar went to the Maarweg studio in Cologne for the recordings. In 2013 Adolar represented the state of Saxony-Anhalt at the Bundesvision Song Contest . With the title Hallelujah they landed in 14th place

On November 30, 2014, the band announced their breakup on Facebook.

Style and reception

Adolar's music is known as postcore , postpunk or indie rock . For the debut album, the press gave Schwörende Seen, their fateful years! A mixed echo: While Visions awarded 8 out of 12 points and wrote “[...] it's fun”, the intro said : “Polished, rocky value-added productions just don't work!” Christian Steinbrink (intro, Nillson Fanzine) called Adolar “one of the Most promising local rock bands of the past and coming years. ”The SLAM wrote:“ With their debut, Adolar are proving that you can release a serious and dense album with German lyrics and thus pulling past a number of German-speaking bands that exactly failed because of this claim. "
