Adept is a Swedish post-hardcore - band of Trosa , browsing at Napalm Records under contract.
Band history
The beginnings
Adept was founded in 2004 and consisted of the musicians Robert Ljung ( vocals ), the two guitarists Jerry Repo and Jacob Papinniemi, the bassist Tobias Ottoson and the drummer Gabriel Hellmark. Their first demo, Hopeless Illusions , was released in the year they were founded, recorded and sold by themselves. Their first EP, which was released a year later, was also financed out of pocket. The second EP, The Rose Will Decay , was also released as an in-house production. Due to the great success and the rapidly growing popularity of the band, Panic & Action became aware of the group and signed them. They also got a golden adapter as a good luck charm for the music.
Panic & Action and Success
On February 4, 2009, the group's first album was released. It's called Another Year of Disaster . The EP Shark followed in October ! Shark! Shark! . In 2010 the band went on tour in Germany with Her Bright Skies , who are also under contract with Panic & Action . The The Toughest Kids Tour included six concerts. The venues were Hamburg , Berlin , Osnabrück , Munich , Stuttgart and Cologne . In August 2010, work began on the successor to Another Year of Disaster . In addition, the band was able to win with Frederik Nordström, an experienced music producer who has already worked with In Flames , Bring Me the Horizon and At the Gates . On March 11, 2011, the second album was released with the name Death Dealers . The single was released on March 4th. The band played their first European tour starting in Sweden with While She Sleeps and Walking With Strangers as support. Concerts in Russia , Finland , Norway , Denmark , Hungary , the Czech Republic , Italy and France followed . In May, the band toured Germany again as part of this European tour. On this tour, the group was seen together with As Blood Runs Black , Caliban and For Today . Two concerts in Austria were planned for this tour . Adept played in the opening act for A Day to Remember on their European tour.
Current situation
Since May 4th, 2011 the band has been touring Europe again with the German metalcore formation Caliban. In addition to individual concerts in Spain , Hungary , France , Italy , Austria , the Czech Republic and Germany , the group can also be seen at several renowned European festivals, including the Vainstream Rockfest , Nova Rock , Powerfest , Pukkelpop , the Greenfield Festival , the Mach1 Festival , the Graspop Metal Meeting , Deichbrand , Summer Breeze and the Serengeti Festival .
On June 9, 2011, the band's record label announced that Adept was separating from their guitarist Jacob Papinniemi until further notice. First the current Constrain guitarist Andrew Chramer was used as a replacement , but was replaced shortly afterwards by Gustav Lithammer, the guitarist of Saving Joshua . On September 13th the band announced on Facebook that Gustav now has a permanent place in the band and will go on the upcoming European tour with them. This of course also takes you through Germany. Adept plays with More Than A Thousand and Walking With Strangers in Berlin, Cologne, Wiesbaden and Hamburg. A tour through Sweden is planned for early 2012. They also cover the song "Riot In Everyone" by Crash Diet for a Panic & Action compilation album. In March 2012 the band is touring England with Heaven Shall Burn and Rise to Remain and the Sweden tour has also been given some dates.
On June 7, 2012, the band announced that they would be heading to Studio Fredman in September of that year to record a third studio album. There they will work again with Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd. The album should be a mixture of the two previous albums. On February 6, 2013, the album was finally announced under the title "Silence The World" for March 22 of that year. In addition, the band will tour England and Germany in April 2013 and will perform at several festivals in Europe.
After a fourth album was originally planned for summer 2015, differences with the record label Panic & Action meant that Adept had to re-record the album that had already been produced. They also left their old label and announced in November of that year that they were now under contract with the Austrian label Napalm Records . At the same time, February 19, 2016 was named as the release date of the album entitled Sleepless . After some appearances in Asia, the band announced on October 16 that guitarist Jerry and drummer Gabriel had left the band. They were succeeded by Kasper Tronstad on guitar and Mikael Norén from Walking With Strangers on drums. According to the band's Facebook presence, Gabriel has been the band's drummer again since 2018.
