Company history

Headquarters of Napalm Records in Eisenerz

In the early days, Napalm Records released black metal bands such as Abigor and Summoning , but also Nåstrond and Ildjarn . After the album Satanized and the end of the existing contract, Abigor split from Napalm Records and switched to End All Life.

Over the years the portfolio expanded to include Gothic , Folk / Viking and Symphonic Metal . The growth of the label and its change to such bands was also the reason for Nåstrond to leave the label:

“This was probably the reason why it was impossible to continue with Napalm Records, as our ambition was never to be part of a major commercial conduct, which prevents individual developments. I have not followed their later forms. "

“This was why it was impossible to continue with Napalm Records as our ambition was never to be part of a commercial force that hinders independent development. I did not follow her later form. "

criticism

In 2007 an article appeared in rock-hard magazine dealing with the national socialist black metal . Since the label also openly carried right-wing extremists in its web shop in addition to non-political bands , the magazine asked him about it; Markus Riedler, owner of Napalm Records, described the questions as "cheek" and "character assassination"; he has all products tested and has also rejected some; the webshop is looked after by a “real metal specialist”. Groups like Nokturnal Mortum , Infernum , Graveland , Totenburg and Ad Hominem were still being sold via the label's web shop at the time of going to press, and the mailorder manager, Karl Kern, seems to know the connections within the right-wing extremist wing. The bands mentioned cannot be found in the webshop in 2014.
