Infected Rain is a nu-metal band from Moldova , which was founded in 2008 in Chișinău .
history
In 2008 Infected Rain was founded by guitarist Vadim "Vidick" Ozhog, singer Elena " Lena Scissorhands " Cataraga and Ivan "DJ Kapa" Kristioglo. The band played for the first time on a Slayer tribute show on August 3, 2008. In the same month, a first demo CD with three songs was recorded: With Me , Parasite and No Idols . The next two years were marked by appearances at various concerts in Moldova, Romania and the Ukraine. Infected Rain won 1st place at the BigUp Urban Fest in 2009 and continued their successful shows at Forest-Kap in 2010 and 2011. In the summer of 2009 the first EP with six songs was released: Judgmental Trap , Panika , No More , Escape , Go Away and Homeless . In winter, the first music video for the song Judgmental Trap was shot.
The band's first album, titled Asylum , was released on November 25, 2011, followed by a tour of Romania to increase awareness of the band and the album. In January 2012, the band released their second music video for the song At the Bottom of the Bottle and shortly after played as headliner at the metal special festival. In June, Infected Rain played at the OST-Fest 2012 in Bucharest and shared the stage with Dimmu Borgir and Mötley Crüe . Shortly afterwards, another music video for the song Me Against You was produced in collaboration with the Moldova Extreme MotoCross group. The video had 2.4 million views on YouTube in five years.
On March 8, 2013, the music video for the song Stop Waiting , which the band regularly plays at their concerts, was released. In autumn 2013 the band completed their first major tour through Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Bulgaria. With the release of the second album Embrace Eternity on March 15, 2014, the band continued to develop musically, as the vocals varied even more clearly between clear vocals and growls . This was based on vocal coaching in the USA.
In autumn 2014 the band started their first major European tour, which took them through 12 countries. Two other music videos, Sweet Sweet Lies and Enslaved by a Dream , were released on their official YouTube channel in January 2015. At the same time, the band presented itself at well-known European festivals.
A tougher musical era for Infected Rain began with the release of the single Serendipity in February 2016, followed by the 4K video Mold, which was viewed over a million times .
In April 2017, the complete album 86 was made available on the band's official YouTube channel. In spring 2017 the band presented their album 86 as part of a tour and played several concerts as the opening act for Lacuna Coil , followed by several festival appearances in Germany, the Rockharz , Summer Breeze and Riverside Festival.
Her fourth studio album Endorphin was released on October 18, 2019 .
style
Infected Rain play a mixture of modern styles of Metal with influences from Korn , Deftones , Kittie and touch areas of Metalcore in parts of their songs. Lena Scissorhands' vocals vary between screams, melodic clear vocals and deep growls. The studio albums were produced in the studio of "Must Music" by Voluta Valentin, the drummer's brother.
