Me and That Man is a music project by the Polish musician Adam Darski .
background
The debut album Songs of Love and Death contains a mixture of folk , country and blues . The music is compared to that of Leonard Cohen , Tom Waits and Nick Cave . The project was founded in 2013. Adam Darski, front man of the death metal band Behemoth , was looking for ways to express himself musically outside of death metal. Darski and the guitarist and rock musician John Porter, who is around 30 years older, got to know each other as part of a country project by the singer and guitarist Maciej Maleńczuk . Together they created songs for a studio album that was released at the end of March 2017 under the title Songs of Love and Death . After the album was released, the duo went on tour through Europe supported by two live musicians .
In the summer of 2018, Darski separated from Porter and worked alone on a new album. For the second studio album New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1 Darski got one or two singers for each song, including Ihsahn ( Emperor ), Nicke Andersson ( Entombed ), Matthew Heafy ( Trivium ), Corey Taylor ( Slipknot , Stone Sour ) and Brent Hinds ( Mastodon ). The release is scheduled for March 27, 2020 via Napalm Records . On December 24, 2019, a performance at the Wacken Open Air 2020 was announced.
