Life

youth

Nicke Andersson was already a big fan of the band Kiss at the age of seven . He then bought records from punk bands like GBH and Discharge . At the age of 13 he met the soon-to-be Nihilist and Entombed members Alex Hellid and Leif “Leffe” Cuzner at holiday camp , who introduced him to metal . Together they founded their first band Sons of Satan during their stay there. From 1987 he was active as a drummer in a hardcore punk band called Brainwarp. During this time he was influenced by cross-associations like Jerry's Kids , DRI , Suicidal Tendencies and the Bad Brains . At the same time he played in a thrash metal band with his schoolmates Lars-Göran Petrov and Uffe Cederlund , which kept changing names.

Entombed

The merged line-up of both bands resulted in Nihilist, the predecessor of Entombed, in mid-1987. Here, too, Andersson was active as a drummer. The band existed until 1989, when they formed Entombed, one of the most influential bands in Swedish death metal . The debut album Left Hand Path , recorded with Tomas Skogsberg in Stockholm's Sunlight Studio , was genre-defining. Nicke Andersson was the focus of the band, as Johnny Hedlund , briefly singer of Nihilist, who then founded Unleashed , later said. Andersson was an organizer and also wrote songs. On the second album, Clandestine in 1991, he even sang after LG Petrov had left, which he initially did not admit.

The Hellacopters

In mid-1994 Andersson founded the rock band Hellacopters with Dregen , Kenny Håkansson and Robert Eriksson as a side project. In 1995 the first single Killing Allan was released on their own label Psychout Records, followed in 1996 by the first album Supershitty to the Max . Andersson sang mainly with the Hellacopters and played guitar alongside a few other instruments. In 1997 he left Entombed to focus on the Hellacopters. The band determined the punk 'n' roll scene in Sweden at the time with a few others and was active until 2008 when they broke up after several other releases.

Other Projects

On a US tour, Andersson played with Scott Morgan , the singer and guitarist of the Sonic's Rendezvous Band . From this the Hydromatics formed , where Andersson played drums and called himself Nick Royale. In 2005 Andersson founded the death metal band Death Breath with Robert Pehrsson and released two albums in 2006 and 2007 based on Venom , Celtic Frost and Autopsy . After the Hellacopters split, Andersson was active in a project called Cold Ethyl, which, however, did not bring out any major publications. In 2010 he brought out the self-titled debut album with his new project Imperial State Electric , and then toured Europe.
