Lars-Göran Petrov
Lars-Göran "LG" Petrov (* 17th February 1972 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish Metal - singer . Petrov was best known with the bands Entombed and Entombed AD .
Career
Petrov is the son of a Swedish father and a Macedonian mother. He started his career as a drummer for the band Morbid . Although they released only two demos , they are considered one of the most influential bands in early death metal . After Morbid broke up in 1988, Petrov moved to the band Nihilist , where his friend Nicke Andersson played drums. Petrov then took over the singing. Nihilist are also considered to be a pioneering death metal band, although they only released demos. 1989 also broke up Nihilist, whose bassist Johnny Hedlund founded the band Unleashed . Meanwhile, the other members formed the band Entombed. Lars-Göran Petrov released nine studio albums with Entombed, including the classic genre Left Hand Path . Entombed have been nominated five times for the Swedish Grammis music award in the hard rock / metal category, but the band came away empty-handed every time. After disputes with guitarist Alex Hellid, the other Entombed members formed the band Entombed AD , which has released three studio albums so far. Entombed AD were nominated once for the Grammis. In addition to Entombed, Lars-Göran Petrov sang the debut album Megatrends in Brutality by the band Comecon in 1992 . In 2012 Petrov founded the band Firespawn with musician friends , with whom he released three studio albums. Lars-Göran Petrov can be heard as a guest musician on various albums, including The Hellacopters , Amon Amarth and Volbeat .
In August 2020, it became known that Petrov had cancer . It is a bile duct carcinoma , which is incurable if the tumor cannot be surgically removed.
