Vesania ( Latin for ' madness ') is a Polish metal band. It was founded in 1997 by Tomasz "Orion" Wróblewski (also Behemoth , Neolithic, Black River), Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski (also Dimmu Borgir , Neolithic, Black River, Masachist , Ex-Pyorrhoea, Sunwheel, Ex-Vader) and Filip "Hałucha “Heinrich (Ex-Rootwater, UnSun, Masachist, Ex- Decapitated ) founded. Later members were Filip "Annahvahr" Żołyński and "Hatrah", of which the latter left the band in 1999 and were replaced by Krzysztof "Siegmar" Oloś.

history

Their first album Moonastray , a split release with Black Altar, was released exclusively in Poland in 2002 by Odium Records. In 2003 the band and Empire Records released Firefrost Arcanum , their first studio album. In the course of this, Annahvahr left the band. The second studio album God the Lux was released in April 2005, after which Marcin "Valeo" Walenczykowski, who played with Heinrich for Rootwater, joined the band as lead guitarist . Her third album, Distractive Killusions , was released in 2007 on Napalm Records .

style

The band plays symphonic black metal, whereby the use of blastbeats and a keyboard that gives the music its symphonic character is characteristic. Borrowings from Death Metal and other styles are used. The band is compared to Dimmu Borgir . The band describes their music as symphonic black metal on their homepage.
