Masachist is a Polish death metal band from Jarosław that was founded in 2005.

history

The band was founded in 2005 by Mariusz "Thrufel" Domaradzki, who was previously active in bands like Yattering and Azarath . After Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski, who was the drummer for Vader at the time, joined the band, they both began writing two songs, after which in 2007 the first demo was released. In the meantime, bassist Filip "Heinrich" Hałucha, who also worked for Vesania , and guitarist Arkadiusz "Aro" Jabłoński, who otherwise worked for Shadows Land , joined the band. After the demo was released, singer Wojciech “Sauron” “Pig” Wąsowicz, who previously worked for Decapitated , joined the cast. The band then wrote their first album, which was released in May 2009 under the name Death March Fury on Witching Hour Productions . At that time the band was mainly active in the studio, playing three concerts at the end of 2010, two of them together with Gojira . In early 2012, the band took part in Decapitated's Covan Wake the Fuck Up Tour. In 2011, the band had mainly worked on their follow-up album before heading to Jabłoński's Monroe Studio in June to record the phonogram. The album was released in 2012 under the name Scorned on Selfmadegod Records .

style

On Death March Fury, according to Tobi H. from metal1.info, the band plays classic Death Metal, comparable to older works by Morbid Angel , Voivod and Dying Fetus . According to Neil Pretorius from metal-observer.com, the band also play classic Death Metal on Scorned , with the intensity of Hate Eternal and the groove of Cannibal Corpse . The vocals are reminiscent of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher . In addition, the band also reminds of Opeth , in the middle of their creative period, and Master's Hammer .
