Toxpack is a German punk / hard rock band from Berlin that was founded in 2001 and its origins in street punk and Oi! Scene has.

history

After the release of the debut album Stadtgeflüster in 2001, the single Racheengel was released in 2002 . In 2003 the EP Vergeltung was created with the Göttingen formation Stomper 98 . Since the second album, The Other Side , released in 2003, the band has been inviting guest singer friends to their productions. This included Mickey Fitz from the British punk band The Business in 2003 .

In 2005, Aggressive Art was the third album to be released, on which the New Yorker Roger Miret from Agnostic Front can be heard with a guest appearance.

In 2007, in cooperation with DSS Records and Randale Records, the fourth studio album Cultus Interruptus was released . It was the first collaboration with producer Harris Johns on a total of three consecutive studio albums. The album title is based on the term coitus interruptus (interrupted sexual intercourse). "Cultus Interruptus" means "cultivated broken off" and is used as a play on words in the text with "We break culture". On the title track of the album, two old friends from Berlin, Koefte de Ville Mad Sin and Atze from Troopers, can be heard. This song sings about a subcultural cohesion in the punk , hardcore , psychobilly , rocker and metal scene . Toxpack shot the accompanying music video in Berlin on Warschauer Str. Near the Oberbaum Bridge with around 100 people. The clip has already been viewed 1.6 million times by fans on the YouTube streaming platform .

In 2009 the album Epidemie was released . Gary Meskil, singer of the New York band Pro-Pain and frontman Joost de Graaf and guitarist Erik Wouters from the Dutch band Discipline can each be heard on two different songs.

The album Bastards of Tomorrow was released in 2011. For the 10th anniversary of the band, two befriended guest singers are there again. Paul Bearer from Sheer Terror and Roi Pearce from The Last Resort .

In 2013 and 2014 Toxpack played as the opening act on Stephan Weidner's tour. They also announced the move to the Betontod label Better Than Hell . The album Friss! Was released there on September 12, 2014 . which was recorded and produced by producer Michael Mainx (also worked e.g. for Böhse Onkelz , Der W , Tankard and DAD ) in Frankfurt am Main in Studio23. The song was heard beforehand, see nothing, say nothing! published, in which Weidner participated as a guest singer, where a common position is taken against everyday racism and a lack of moral courage. The album brought Toxpack the first chart placement and reached number 16 in the German charts .

At the end of 2014, drummer Hinni Hammer left the band after ten years for personal reasons. He was bid farewell at the traditional “home game” in Berlin's Huxley's. Zoppel, a long-time friend of the band and who has been working as drum tec since 2011, was introduced as the successor.

In 2016 Toxpack signed a worldwide contract with the Austrian metal major label Napalm Records . The album "Schall & Rausch", released on March 31, 2017, produced and recorded in the Dailyhero Recordings recording studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg, earned top marks in many magazines.

On May 31, 2019, the current album "Fighters" was released, landed at number 7 in the official German album charts and is the band's ninth studio album.

Style and Achievements

Toxpack began their musical career as a classic street punk band, calling their style of music from the beginning "streetcore", a mixture of punk , hardcore and heavy metal . The band coined the term "Streetcore" in Germany and understands it: From the street, for the street . Over the years, more and more rock and hard rock elements have flowed into the Toxpack sound. On the album Friss! (2014) lead vocals and choirs are more melodic in numerous pieces than on all previous albums.

In terms of sound, "Schall & Rausch" falls short of its predecessor "Friss!" a lot harder and more robust. The long player brought the band to the second chart position - No. 20 in the German album charts - of their career.

"Fighters" ties in seamlessly with the success of "Schall & Rausch" and was also produced again in the Dailyhero Recordings recording studio. This album brings the band their third entry into the album charts and for the first time number 7 in the top ten. This album has received very positive reviews in many magazines.
