Mad Sin is a German psychobilly band that was founded in Berlin in 1987 .

history

Köfte DeVille at the Ruhrpott Rodeo 2013

Mad Sin was founded in 1987 by singer Köfte, guitarist Stein and bassist Holly as a street and bar band. In 1988 the band signed their first record deal with Maybe Crazy Records and released the album Chills & Thrills In a Drama of Mad Sin & Mystery that same year . After an album was released between 1990 and 1993, the band went on tour in Holland in 1996, where they signed a record deal with Count Orlok Records . With the 1996 album God Save the Sin and the following support gigs for bands like Gwar , Suicidal Tendencies and Faith No More , Mad Sin reached a larger audience for the first time. In 1998 the major label Polydor noticed the band and signed them. After the album ... Sweet and Innocent? ... Loud and Dirty! has appeared, Polydor tries everything to cancel the contract with Mad Sin and finally achieves this with a severance payment , whereupon Mad Sin take a longer break. After a few member changes, the band turned to People Like You Records in 2002 and the album Survival of the Sickest was released .

By the end of 2003 the band played over 140 shows in Europe , the USA and Japan . In 2005 the album Dead Moon's Calling was released and Mad Sin went on tour with Turbo AC's and Smoke Blow . In 2006 guitarist Tex Morton left the band, who quickly found a replacement in "Mad Pete 1", who previously played as "Nekropete" for Nekromantix . From late April to late May 2006, Mad Sin toured the United States again. During this tour, Chip acquired Hanna , known as the drummer for the US Bombs and One Man Army , Andy Laaf, Tex Morton and Valle for his Country / Americana project, which has since been known as Chip Hanna & The Berlin Three .

In October 2012 Matt Voodoo had to leave the band because he was performing on The Voice without having discussed this with the band beforehand.
