Smoke Blow is a hardcore punk band from Kiel, founded in 1997 .
history
Smoke Blow began as ZZ Top - and Lynyrd Skynyrd - cover band . The five founding members sent their first demo to Rock Hard magazine under the name Smoke and were hired for editorial celebrations. Later the editors selected the song Old Man River for a sampler supplement with non-contract groups of the harder pace. Live activities were also boosted, with singer Jack Letten , a middle-class kindergarten teacher , showing off his trademark impudence and shamelessness.
In an edition of the Rock Hard he explained the adopted the merry establishment mood bully - attitude : "We wanted to [...] withdraw fully hell show, hide behind any pseudonyms and then properly let out the sow." The Hanoverian label loudsprecher published in February 1999 First album, Smoke's A-blowin 'Black as Coal , recorded with cheap equipment and produced with the help of friends . The following year, the quintet's second work was 777 Bloodrock . In March 2001 they acted as a heat-up for The Melvins and in May the third album Punkadelic - The Godfather Of Soul was available. With their fourth album, German Angst , released in March 2003 , they had left loudsprecher in the direction of Noisolution , and at the same time the band had grown to six. One song from it, Circle of Fear , also appeared on the soundtrack of the video game Tony Hawk's Underground . Since then the albums Dark Angel , Colossus and The Record have been added. The two concerts in 2008 in the preliminary program of the Machmalauter tour by the band Die Toten Hosen can be considered the highlight of the live presentations .
style
Their music is a mixture of noise , doom , stoner rock , punk rock and hardcore . The "noise level" caused by "screaming orgies", which was later also referred to as "brute excesses", is valued by both critics and fans alike.
