Vainstream Rockfest
The Vainstream Rockfest is a music festival founded in Münster in 2006 that has taken place on the last weekend in June or on the first weekend in July in recent years. At the festival, bands from the metal , punk , hardcore punk and related styles primarily perform . The organizer is Kingstar Event GmbH based in Münster. The Kingstar Group is managed by Timo Birth.

The festival site is located at Am Hawerkamp in Münster's Hansaviertel , which is a cultural center in Münster.
history
The Vainstream Rockfest began on July 1, 2006 as a one-day event. With Bullet for My Valentine , Caliban , boysetsfire and the band Neaera from Münster, the organizers were able to win over well-known artists as main acts for this first festival . In 2007 Dropkick Murphys , Hatebreed , As I Lay Dying , Heaven Shall Burn and Less Than Jake were represented.
In 2008 the number of bands increased significantly. This time Sick of It All , Anti-Flag , Mad Caddies , Madball and Comeback Kid were there. In 2009 the festival was held over two days for the first time (Friday and Saturday). The number of bands almost doubled compared to previous years. Hatebreed , Ignite , The Gaslight Anthem and Walls of Jericho played on the first day . On the second day, Dimmu Borgir , Terror , Parkway Drive , Have Heart and August Burns Red performed, among others . With more than 8,000 visitors per day, the number of festival participants increased again. On the same days, the “sister festival ” Vainstream Beastfest was held for the first time in Wiesbaden .
After considerable organizational difficulties, the 2010 festival was again shortened to one day. The number of visitors increased again in 2011, this time over 10,000 fans came to the Rockfest, which was concluded by Motörhead .

The festival, which was sold out with 16,000 spectators, took place at well over 30 degrees. In addition to free drinking water, the organizers provided cold showers and access to the Coconut Beach pool bar to cool off. For the first time there was a deposit system with reusable cups.
