The Bronx is an American hardcore punk band from Los Angeles , California .

history

The band was formed in 2002 and was signed by the record label Island Def Jam Records . The following year they toured many parts of the US , Europe and Australia.

The Bronx released four albums, their debut album in 2003 and three successors in 2006, 2008 and 2013. They are all titled The Bronx . Furthermore, the live DVD Live at the Annandale was released on her own label White Drugs , which was recorded in the Annandale Hotel in Sydney.

With their side project Mariachi El Bronx, The Bronx released the album El Bronx in late August 2009 . According to Matt Caughthran, the difference between the two projects is that The Bronx is the view of things that go wrong, while Mariachi El Bronx emphasizes the positive side of life.

In June 2017, the band announced their fifth album on Facebook for September 22, 2017. The title will be The Bronx again , but with the Roman 5 (V) in the name: BRVNX.

style

The Bronx was heavily influenced by various hardcore bands of the 1970s and 1980s, including Black Flag , Fear and Bad Brains , as well as The Saints and The Victims.

Trivia

The song Notice of Eviction was used in the computer game Need for Speed: Underground 2 . Around the Horn can be heard in another part of the Need for Speed ​​series, NFS: Carbon . The song Oceans Of Class is also part of the soundtrack of Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam . Under the name Mariachi El Bronx , the band has released three albums of mariachi music and performed as a show band on the wrestling show Lucha Underground .
