history

Ole Feltes (2006)

Their members were previously u. a. represented in the bands Fastplant and Summer's Last Regret . In May 2004 their first EP Decision & Action was released with five songs. The biggest success in the relatively young history of the band counted the appearances in the opening act for Billy Talent and Coheed and Cambria in 2004. Their first album Crush / Rebuild was released in April 2005. In 2005, various support shows were held for Taking Back, among others, to match the new album release Sunday , Hot Water Music , Millencolin , Finch and Boysetsfire as well as various festivals, etc. a. Rhine culture .

In June 2006 Fire in the Attic released the second album, I'll beat you, City! . Like the previous releases, it was released on the Düsseldorf label Redfield Records and distributed by Cargo Records . At the end of May / beginning of June 2006 the band accompanied the Canadians Alexisonfire and Moneen on their Germany tour. At the beginning of November, the band played on the Taste-Of-Chaos Tour 2006 with Anti-Flag and Taking Back Sunday, among others .

In April 2008 the third album Cum Grano Salis was released . A few days earlier, the complete album was included in the music magazine Visions free of charge . In August 2008 singer Ole Feltes left the band. His successor was the native Englishman Thomas Prescott, a former keyboardist of the hardcore band KENAI . With Prescott as a singer, the band released the album Fire in the Attic in 2009 .

In November 2010 the band announced on their website that they would suspend all activities until at least July 2011. In the same year Richard Meyer and Dennis Müller (née Meyer) founded the band KMPFSPRT .

style

The sound of the band, similar to what happens with bands of the same type, is often falsely associated with emocore . In fact, their style combines faster, harmonious and catchy post-hardcore with harder screams and very melodic vocal interludes by the singer Thomas Prescott. In the music of the band, more or less stronger alternative rock or emocore influences can still be recognized.
