Kleinkmehlen is part of the municipality of Großkmehlen in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the Office Ortrand with its seat in Ortrand .

geography

Kleinkmehlen is one of the few places in the southern Oberspreewald-Lausitz district not in Lausitz , but in Schraden . To the west of the place lies Großkmehlen , in the north and east other places of the Ortrand Lindenau office border north and directly east the town of Ortrand with the district Burkersdorf . To the south are the villages of Kraußnitz and Linz , which are already in the Saxon municipality of Schönfeld , and Blochwitz in the municipality of Lampertswalde . South of the village is the group of hills called Kmehlener Berge , with the highest mountain in Brandenburg, the Kutschenberg .

The federal motorway 13 runs directly west of Kleinkmehlen .

history

The place Kleinkmehlen is probably older than the neighboring Großkmehlen, which was founded from Kleinkmehlen. In 1391 there was evidence of a knight's seat in Großkmehlen. Von Köckritz is named as the first owner of the two places in 1392 . The Lords of Köckritz remained the owners of the place until the middle of the 15th century. Small flour, like the neighboring towns, later belonged to the Electorate of Hayn . Then it came to the district of Liebenwerda and was transferred to the newly founded district of Senftenberg in 1952. On January 1, 1974, Kleinkmehlen and Frauwalde were incorporated into Großkmehlen.
