Rise of the Northstar is a Founded in 2008, rap-metal - band from the French capital, Paris.
history
Rise of the Northstar was founded by the singer Vithia, the two guitarists Loic.G and Diego, as well as the bassist Lucas and the drummer Max.V. In the year it was founded, a demo with two tracks was released, both of which were re-recorded on their debut EP Tokyo Assault . The EP was produced in-house in 2009 and released in an edition of 1000 copies.
Rise of the Northstar completed their first European tour at the end of 2011. This was called the Phoenix Tour and led through Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain and Belgium. Between June and August 2012 the group could be seen again in Europe before the group gave several concerts in Japan for the first time at the end of August . At the shows in Europe, the group was occasionally supported by Emmure, Xibalba and Deez Nuts .
In 2012 the group released a second six-song EP called Demonstrating My Saiya Style . In 2013, the group was seen in the People's Republic of China and Taiwan .
In 2014 the group could be seen at several major music festivals, including the Summer Breeze and the Impericon Festivals in Vienna and Leipzig. The group could also be seen at the Resurrection Fest in Viveiro .
For the debut album Welcame (2014) singer Vithia founded his own record company Repression Records. Nuclear Blast took over the worldwide distribution of the album. The group established contact with the Nuclear Blast boss Markus Staiger through their appearance at Summer Breeze 2014. Music producer Chris Harris, who had already worked with Hatebreed and Terror , took part in the work.
In the winter of 2016, the band made a European tour called The Underrated Tour through Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria. At that time they also played at festivals from time to time. The next album The Legacy of Shi (2018) was recorded by Gojira's Joe Duplantier at his Silver Cord Studios in New York City.
After several line-up changes, Vithia is the only remaining founding member.
style
Rise of the Northstar combine New York Hardcore of the 90s with Thrash Metal , Metalcore and use Japanese culture in their lyrics . The group also cites hip-hop influences from the 1990s as part of the musical roots. Also Shōnen -Mangas are among the influences.
social commitment
In May 2011, the group launched its Protect ya Japan campaign to raise money for those left behind from the tsunami and nuclear disaster that occurred on March 11th of the same year and the effects of which can still be felt today. As part of this campaign, the group brought out the song Phoenix .
