Upon a Burning Body is an American deathcore band from San Antonio , Texas that was formed in 2005.
history
The band was formed in 2005. In 2009 the band reached a contract with Sumerian Records , about which the 2010 debut album The World Is Ours was released. In 2011, the band played at the December to Remember Festival, which also included We Came as Romans , Of Mice & Men and Winds of Plague . The second album Red. White. Green. appeared in March 2012, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 105 . In April the band went on tour through the United States with I, the Breather and Betraying the Martyrs , and in May the band went on a European tour with I See Stars and The Word Alive . Festival appearances took place in the UK that same month at the Slam Dunk Festival and the Download Festival . In October and November 2012 the group held further performances in Europe together with As I Lay Dying , Trivium and Caliban in Germany and Austria . In 2013 the band also held concerts and went on tour through the USA in October and November 2013, together with Attila , The Plot in You and Fit for a King . In February and March 2014 the group took part in the Soundwave Festival . The third album The World Is My Enemy Now was released in the middle of the year. The publication was preceded by a promotional campaign in which it was announced in a Facebook post that singer Danny Leal was missing and was last seen on June 30th. Previously, Leal had tweeted that he heard noises in his house. After the lyrics to the song Red Razor Wrists were published, everything turned out to be a lie, but this was not taken positively by either fans or management.

According to Allmusic's Gregory Heaney , the band plays Deathcore, which invites you to Moshen . The songs would include “massive” riffs , breakdowns, and choirs that sounded like hardcore punk . According to Tobias Kreutzer from metal.de , the band plays on The World Is My Enemy Deathcore, which occasionally shows influences from Nu Metal and Southern Rock , and named groups like Whitechapel , Lamb of God and Hellyeah as reference bands . The band is not comparable to typical deathcore bands like Emmure and is less heavy on death metal than Whitechapel.
