Hellyeah (stylized spelling: HELLYEAH ) is an American metal band. Members included Vinnie Paul , the former drummer of Pantera and Damageplan , singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribett, who were also active with Mudvayne , and Tom Maxwell, the guitarist of Nothingface . Until April 18, 2007, Jerry Montano (Nothingface, Danzig ) also belonged to the band. A few months after his expulsion, Bob Zilla (also Damageplan) was announced as a replacement.

Band history

In June 2006, Vinnie Paul first announced in an interview that he was planning to start a new band. At the end of October of the same year he finally announced the name of the band - Hellyeah - and the membership composition. In January 2007, Hellyeah recorded their debut album, on February 26, a pre-release single You Wouldn't Know was released, for which a video was made and which reached number 8 on the US rock charts (Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks) . On April 10, 2007, Epic Records released the album named after the band, Hellyeah , which sold 45,000 copies in the first week and entered the US Billboard charts at number 9. At the end of September there were 188,670 albums sold.

A first tour with SOiL as support took place in May / June 2007. This was followed by a detour to Australia and an appearance at the Download Festival in England. In the summer they took part in the Family Values Tour with Korn , Evanescence , Trivium , Atreyu and Flyleaf .

On November 13, 2007 the DVD Below the Belt was released, which contained some live material, music videos, various documentaries and interviews.

In early July 2010 the band released their second studio album, Stampede .

The 2012 album called "Band of Brothers", according to the band, takes up the style of the bands Pantera, Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface, so it is much harder than the previous albums.

In 2014 the band split from bassist Bob Zilla and guitarist Greg Tribbett for musical reasons. Kyle Sanders ( Bloodsimple ) was introduced as the new bassist. The new album Blood For Blood was released on June 10, 2014.
