The Sounds are a Swedish indie rock band from Helsingborg .
Band history
Rodriquez and Bengtsson founded the band in 1998. After they had found the drummer Nilsson, it took a while until they met the singer Maja Ivarsson, who had previously played the horn and guitar in various girls' bands. In 1999 the band was completed by the keyboardist Jesper Anderberg, whom they met at the Hultsfred Festival. Big fans of the band are Quentin Tarantino and the Foo Fighters , in whose program they appeared as the opening act .
The album Something to Die For is the first album that the band produced completely independently.
style
Especially in the first album Living in America , elements of new wave and synth-pop are used. With the release of their second album Dying to Say This to You, the band's style is clearly oriented towards rock . In addition to Blondie , the band's role models are Duran Duran and Depeche Mode .
Trivia
In the 2006 song Snakes on a Plane (Bring It) by Cobra Starship , Sounds singer Maja Ivarsson took over the female vocals.
The songs Dance with Me and Rock'n'Roll are part of the Final Destination 2 soundtrack.
The song Bombs Bombs Away (Teenage Battlefield) is part of the soundtrack to Big Girls Don't Cry .
Jesper Anderberg and Felix Rodriguez recently worked as songwriters and producers for the Dutch pop band Krezip . They wrote and produced the songs All My Life , Play This Game with Me and You're Wrong for Krezip's fourth studio album, Plug It In .
The song "Something to Die For" was used as the intro song for Scream 4 and appeared on the soundtrack.
