history
Watch Out Stampede was founded in 2011 in Weyhe , Lower Saxony and currently consists of five members: Andreas Hildebrandt (vocals), Dennis Landt (vocals, guitar ), David Werner (guitar), Stefan Poggensee ( bass ) and Tolga Özer ( drums ) . Watch Out Stampede emerged from the previous band "The Glues". With their formation in 2011, the band released their first EP, From Hoes and Heroes, on CD. In the same year, the first music video was released with Sky Burns Red . Through local band competitions and larger festivals such as the Reload Festival in Sulingen and “Rock den Lukas” in Tarmstedt , the band attracted attention in local reporting and throughout Germany in the scene.
In 2014 the band signed their first recording deal with Noizgate Records and released three studio albums and one LP in the following years. Reacher was released on June 13, 2014, Tides on September 25, 2015, SVTVNIC on March 24, 2017 and the WATCH OUT STAMPEDE VINYL EDITION on December 7, 2018. The band released various music videos for this. The studio albums and music videos were largely self-made. An exception is the album SVTVNIC , which was mixed and mastered in the Chamäleon Studios by Eike Freese and Alexander Dietz, the guitarist of Heaven Shall Burn .
Watch Out Stampede released cover versions and music videos of the titles Die Young by Kesha (2013) and Outside by Ellie Goulding (2015), which did not appear on any album for licensing reasons. In April 2019, the band signed a record deal with the German music label Redfield Records .
Watch Out Stampede has performed with bands like Eskimo Callboy , The Black Dahlia Murder , The Browning or Emil Bulls and many more. There are also appearances at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air , Deichbrand and Open Flair . The previous line-up of the band includes Kai Bührmann (guitar), Torben Budelmann (bass) and Jendrik Grube (guitar).
style
The band describes their style as post-hardcore . With the album SVTVNIC, Deepground Magazine feels reminded of metalcore bands from the last few years and writes of hardcore-heavy post-metal. The band's music consists of the genre-typical shout and clean chants, breakdowns and mosh parts, whereby electronic musical instruments such as synthesizers and samplers are also used. The lyrics of the band deal with topics that tend to be gloomy, such as pain, loss, revenge, but they also contain social criticism or describe friendly relationships.
