Neck Deep is a corporation founded in 2012 British pop-punk - band , from Wrexham in north Wales comes. The group is signed to Hopeless Records and released their debut album Wishful Thinking in early 2014. With the Kerrang! Awards In 2014 the group was named Best Newcomer . In August 2015, Life's Not Out to Get You, the second studio album, was released, which posted the band's first ever chart entry.

history

Foundation and first publications

Neck Deep was founded as a project by guitarist Lloyd Roberts and singer Ben Barlow in Wrexham . After the duo released two songs, they recruited three more musicians into the project: guitarist Matt West, bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans and drummer Dani Abasi. Due to the increasing response on the Internet, the musicians decided to record their first EP. This was published in 2012 and is called Rain in July . On February 19, 2013, the second EP A History of Bad Decisions was released on We Are Triumphant .

In August 2013, the band was signed by the US independent label Hopeless Records .

Wishful thinking

On January 14th, 2014 the debut album with Wishful Thinking was released on Hopeless Records. In early 2014, the group toured the UK as the opening act for We Are the In Crowd before headlining the United States with Knuckle Puck . To promote the tour, the group recorded a split EP with Knuckle Puck.

The group spent the summer of 2014 on the Warped Tour . The group had already performed in the UK as part of the Warped Tour at the end of 2013. The musicians announced that both EPs will be re-recorded and released via Hopeless Records. This was published on June 16, 2014. At the Kerrang! Awards In 2014 the band won the award for Best Newcomer and was able to prevail against Bury Tomorrow .

At the end of May 2014 the group played at all three concerts of the Slam Dunk Festival . The group could also be seen at the Impericon Festivals in Cologne and Vienna in April .

Life's Not Out to Get You

On May 12, 2015, the group released a new song called Can't Kick Up the Roots . This was announced by the band on Facebook in April 2015 in a mysterious announcement. In early May, the group released the news that the band was producing a new album. This is called Life's Not Out to Get You and was released on August 10, 2015. On August 21, 2015, the album rose to number 8 in the British and 17 in the US album charts .

The group was nominated for Best Newcomer at the second Alternative Press Music Awards . Lloyd Roberts left the band on August 23, 2015 in order to concentrate on his personal future. However, days before there were rumors that Roberts, together with bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans, were guilty of misconduct against underage fans of the band. Both Roberts and the band have commented on this. While Roberts presented the allegations as false, the rest of the band apologized for the situation.

In October and November, the band appeared with One Ok Rock supporting Sleeping with Sirens and All Time Low in the United States . On December 18, 2015, Sam Bowden was introduced as the band's new guitarist. Bowden was previously on tour with the band as a session musician for Lloyd Roberts, who left the band.

The Peace and the Panic

On May 21, 2017 Neck Deep released the two songs Happy Judgment Day and Where Do We Go When We Go . The songs are part of the new album The Peace and the Panic , which was released on August 18th via Hopeless Records .

style

According to Brian Kraus from Alternative Press , Neck Deep play a loud and catchy version of modern pop punk on the two EPs . The album Wishful Thinking offers a lot, from an emo ballad to hardcore- influenced songs.
