The second Alternative Press Music Awards were held on July 22, 2015 at the Quicken Loans Arena , home of the NBA club Cleveland Cavaliers . The moderators were Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat from All Time Low .
Keith Buckley ( Every Time I Die ) and Ash Costello ( New Years Day ) moderated the event from the red carpet . It was announced that Rob Zombie would receive the Vanguard Award for music and film achievements and the punk band X would receive the Icon Award . In addition, a spontaneous cooperation with the social network Tumblr was decided, so that another award category was announced.

On January 8, 2015, it was announced that the second Alternative Press Music Awards would be held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland , Ohio . Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat from the pop-punk band All Time Low were announced as moderators . As in the previous year, the aftershow party is to be held on the premises of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum . Ash Costello from New Years Day and Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die hosted the red carpet event.
On March 5, 2015, a new category was presented in which the best music video should be selected. This was Bring Me the Horizon , A Day to Remember , Set It Off! , Fall Out Boy , Modern Baseball, and PVRIS nominated. The nominations for the remaining categories were announced on March 31, 2015. The voting started on the same day and will end on July 6, 2015.
Ticket sales began on April 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. CET . On June 15, 2015 it was announced that Rob Zombie would receive the Vanguard Award , one of the two main prizes, for his success in the music and film industry . The other main prize, the Icon Award , went to the punk band X . As a result of a cooperation with the social network Tumblr , an additional category was introduced, the Tumblr Fandom Of The Year Award . The editor of the magazine announced the winner.
All Time Low won a total of three prizes at the second Alternative Press Music Awards, making them the winners of the evening.

This year the event was also broadcast on AXS TV in the United States . The premiere event brought the broadcaster the highest audience rate ever in its history.
Appearances
Sum 41 made their comeback at the award ceremony after singer Deryck Whibley is fit again after long-term health problems. Even appearances were of Panic! At The Disco , Taking Back Sunday , Motionless in White , All Time Low , a special appearance by New Found Glory starring Hayley Williams , as well as Echosmith , Halestorm and the Madden Brothers announced. On May 21, 2015, additional appearances were announced by Parkway Drive , As It Is , While She Sleeps , Bullet for My Valentine and Motion City Soundtrack , among others . Less than a month later, Pierce the Veil , Rob Zombie and X were announced.

criticism
Many viewers expressed incomprehension on several social media platforms for the presentation of the Tumblr Fandom of the Year award to the Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer . Some wrote that the group won simply because of its large online audience. Others scornfully asked what the band had to do with alternative rock music, while other users denied the group being relevant to alternative music.
Range
In the first edition in 2014 alone, just over 300,000 votes were counted. This mark was clearly exceeded at this event. It was said that a third of all votes cast came from overseas .
