As It Is (often stylized as ΛS IT IS ) is a British pop-punk band from Brighton, founded in 2012 .
history
As It Is was founded in May 2012 in the British city of Brighton and consists of singer Patty Walters, the two guitarists Benjamin Langford-Biss - who also acts as background singer and Ronnie Ish - as well as bassist Alistair Testo and drummer Patrick Foley. Andy Westhead was the band's guitarist until 2017. At the beginning of 2019, Ronnie Ish occupied the position of lead guitarist.
In 2013 the debut EP was released with Blenheim Place . Another EP followed in 2014 with This Mind of Mine . This was financed through crowdfunding . At the end of 2014, the group was signed by Fearless Records as the first non-American band. The group has announced the release of their debut album, called Never Happy, Ever After , in 2015. James Paul Wisner , who already worked with Paramore and Dashboard Confessional , was confirmed as producer . The first single Dial Tones was released on January 20, 2015 on digital level. On March 3, 2015, another single from the album and pre-order options were announced. The album was officially released on April 21, 2015. On February 26, 2016, it was announced that Never Happy, Ever After will be republished on April 8, 2016 with additional material.
Between January 22nd and 30th, 2015, the group was on tour with Save Your Breath in the UK on their farewell tour. A European tour followed in February and March as the opening act for Trophy Eyes . Eight days later the band toured the United States for the first time with Set It Off . A tour with This Wild Life as co-headliner through the United Kingdom followed between May 9 and 22, 2015 . In the summer the band played the full Warped Tour for the first time . In February and March 2016, As It Is toured the UK supporting Sleeping with Sirens . This tour continued through Europe in the summer of 2016.
On September 22nd, 2016, the band's second album for January 20th, 2017 was announced with okay . It was also announced that the group will tour North America with Sum 41 and Senses Fail in October and November . On May 17, 2018, the band released a new single, The Wounded World, and announced their third album, The Great Depression , for August 10 of the same year.
On September 9, 2019, the band announced that guitarist and backing vocalist Benjamin Langford-Biss would part ways with the band in November of that year after a farewell tour ("Ben today, gone tomorrow").
Music genre
As It Is play the classic version of Pop-Punk . The band can be compared with The Wonder Years , Man Overboard , but also with The Ataris and Less Than Jake .
