The Alternative Press Music Award for Most Dedicated Fanbase , in German "Alternative Press Music Award for the best supporters" is a music award that has been presented since 2014 at the annual Alternative Press Music Awards . It honors artists who, in the opinion of Alternative Press readers, have the best following.

On April 24, 2014, the American music magazine Alternative Press , which specializes in punk , hardcore and their sub-genres, announced the first-time presentation of the Alternative Press Music Awards . This was justified by the fact that "the Alternative Press has been the leading voice in this music and lifestyle for 30 years and you finally have a night to celebrate it."
The first award ceremony took place on July 21, 2014 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland , Ohio . The readers of the music magazine were initially able to vote for their favorites in twelve categories, which were previously nominated by the magazine. This included the category for the best supporters . In its first year, the American hard rock band Black Veil Brides won this award. All Time Low won this award the following year . In 2016, the melodic hardcore band The Ghost Inside received the award in this category.

Special occurrences
After Black Veil Brides singer Andy Biersack accepted the award for the best fan base at the first Alternative Press Music Awards , he jumped over the barrier in front of the stage and presented the Skully to a fan of the band in the audience. He said that this award shouldn't belong to the band, but to the fans. After the music award was presented to The Ghost Inside at the award show on July 18, 2016 , the band stood on the podium for the first time after the devastating accident in November 2015 in which two people were killed and the musicians were seriously injured. Singer Jonathan Vigil said in his speech that he actually had no plans to return to the stage. However, the following could change their mind.
