Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee , Florida, founded in 2005 . Her first album Tales Told by Dead Friends was released in 2006 and sold over 50,000 copies.
Band history
With a name still undecided, the band went into the studio and recorded their first EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, with producer Lee Dyess . During this time the band members decided on the name Mayday Parade. First the band went on a US tour with Brandston and Mêlée. Shortly after the EP was released, she went on tour with the Plain White T’s . In January 2007, the band started recording their first studio album, A Lesson in Romantics , which was released on July 10, 2007. Shortly after the album was finished, Jason Lancaster left the band for personal reasons. He currently plays in the band Go Radio . Mayday Parade performed on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour and made its first appearance in the UK in April 2008 at the Give it a Name festivals in Sheffield and London. The band returned to the Vans Warped Tour in 2008 and toured the United States with All Time Low , The Maine and Every Avenue . In 2009 the band released their first album - Anywhere But Here - without Jason Lancaster. A new EP called Valdosta followed on March 8, 2011 . The new album was released later that year, bearing the same name as the band. On October 9, 2015, the band released their fifth studio album Black Lines, which fades into the background for the band's typical pop-punk elements and is developing more in the direction of alternative rock . Mike Sapone ( Brand New , Taking Back Sunday ) was the first producer . In 2018 the band signed a recording deal with Rise Records and announced their sixth studio album, entitled Sunnyland.
