New Politics is a Danish alternative / indie rock band that was founded in Copenhagen in 2009 . The band's greatest success to date goes back to the 2010 single Yeah Yeah Yeah , which can be found in the car racing game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit .

history

David Boyd and Søren Hansen had been writing songs together for three years (which, however, were never produced). Between 2006 and 2009, around 300 songs were written. In 2009 they applied to the "P3's career cannon" competition with the songs Stress and Make Money . From a total of 973 applicants, they were among the 42 bands that were allowed to demonstrate their talent. After the successful participation, they hired the drummer Poul Amaliel to play for them. New Politics, which up to this point (with the exception of the competition) had no live performances, played a concert in Denmark in May 2009, among other things . A UK tour followed. In November 2009, was RCA - Label which to Sony Music Entertainment heard aware of the band and took them. In order to work better with the label, they decided to move to an attic apartment in Williamsburg , Brooklyn , New York in November 2009 .

On July 13, 2010 they released their debut album , which is also called New Politics . This was followed by a US tour and numerous other appearances in the US . The songs Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and Dignity were released as single from the album and a music video was shot for each of them in New York.

In early 2011, Poul Amaliel left the band after three months to pursue other plans and ideas. He was replaced by Louis Vecchio.

In early 2013, New Politics worked on their second studio album A Bad Girl in Harlem , which was released on May 21, 2013, also on RCA Records. Already on January 22nd, 2013 New Politics released the song Harlem , a single from the new album.
