The Madden Brothers are an American rock duo consisting of the brothers Joel and Benji Madden. Both are also known as members of the band Good Charlotte .

Band history

The twins Joel and Benji Madden got the idea for the first time in 2011 to work musically outside the punk rock of their band Good Charlotte . The result was the mixtape Before, Volume 1 , in which rappers like Wiz Khalifa and Machine Gun Kelly were involved. A year later they wanted to have an album with Pharrell Williams as producer, but this did not materialize due to lack of time. Instead, they signed with Capitol Records in the fall of 2013 and worked with other producers on the music for their debut album.

In the summer of 2014, the Madden brothers were engaged as coaches for the talent show The Voice Kids in Australia. As part of this show, they presented their debut single We Are Done in early July , which then became a number one hit in Australia and New Zealand . However, the release in the USA did not bring it to the official charts. With the following debut album Greetings from California they were able to reach number 1 and number two again in September in Australia and New Zealand . After all, they reached number 57 on the Billboard 200 in the USA.
