history

Originally founded by Oliver Moosmann as "Oli & Ela Records" in 2003 (publications including GVOS, Freiboiter, Punkroiber), the label was later renamed "Randale Records" after Diana Schuler joined the company. The "Randale Meeting" festival is held every year, where various bands from the label are presented. Randale Records runs the mail order and the "Randaleshop" shop. Other events take place in the Gasthaus Welschdorf, such as B. pub evenings and themed evenings. In addition, the book " Cock Sparrer - The best place in the house" by Cock Sparrer drummer Steve Bruce was published in German translation on Randale Records .

Background and criticism

Randale Records is often accused of releasing bands from the so-called "gray area". In 2010 there was massive criticism because Randale Records brought out the 4-Skins CD "The Return" and organized a concert with the 4-Skins in Schramberg. Diana Schuler commented on this: "The 4-Skins have always been a band that shaped me a lot. After Cock Sparrer, they were one of the most important bands in my life as a young skinhead. When we got in touch with the 4-Skins with our label Randale Records -Skins had and they offered us that we could release their new album, I was really happy. (...) We didn't know the problematic part of the song "Take no more" and only got through the reports on the internet We were very irritated ourselves at first because the lyrics didn't correspond to our ideas and our point of view. We then talked to the 4-Skins as well as other English bands about this topic. The 4-Skins met each other given to this statement (translated from English): "The song is largely about three issues that determine current British politics. These are immigration, corrupt politicians and your government-paid private spending and crime. These are the questions that concern the British the most at the moment and they were the most debated issues in the election that has just taken place. As I said, these issues were hotly debated by the parties, as was the issue of illegal immigration and the problems that go with it, such as social spending, the problems in the housing situation and the burden on the infrastructure, etc. "A left-wing Brit said to us : "I've listened to the 4-Skins track" take no more "and its a sensetive subject but its pretty much what you read in the British press every day, the first verse is to do with the expenses scandal amongst mps in this country and the second verse mentions illegal immigrants and gypsies who come here because of our soft benefit system, I personally would nt write a song like that because it can get mistaken by political people (left or right) rather than being just "social commentary" the third verse is about the killings in London (mostly drug lords and young kids who wanna be gangsters) "I dont think its a right wing song." We don't want to comment on these statements, but we have to state for ourselves that formulations like in the song "Take no Moore" correspond more to a regulars' table and do not fit into the text repertoire of a skinhead band. (...) As a label, we draw the consequence that we will not make any more publications in the future without reading through the texts of the titles beforehand and asking if in doubt. We are an apolitical label, we do not want to have questionable opinions and texts in our publications and we do not want our scene to be divided. Fascists and racists are and will remain undesirable both in our music and at our concerts! "
