The 4-Skins are a British Oi! Band from London in the early 1980s . After the breakup in 1984, the band reorganized in 2007.

history

The only band member who played with the band from the beginning to the end was the guitarist or (from 1980) bassist Tom McCourt. All other instruments have been reshuffled several times. Most recently, Roi Pearce ( The Last Resort ) took over the vocal part .

The band was formed in 1979 with Gary Hodges (vocals), Steve "H" Harmer (bass), Hoxton Tom McCourt (guitar) and Gary Hitchcock (drums) and split up five years later. Despite the relatively short time, they are still a cult band on the Oi! Scene. Many 4-Skins songs had violence as a theme, with the band claiming they only deal with the reality of big city life and not incite violence. The band's most famous songs include Chaos and ACAB. In addition to their own releases, the band was also featured on the first Oi! Samplers , with bands such as Cockney Rejects , The Business and Angelic Upstarts .

The 4-Skins were re- founded in 2007, with lead singer Gary Hodges and bassist Steve "H" Harmer from the original line-up from 1979.

Band name

The band's name is a pun on the English word for prepuce ( foreskin ) and refers to the four occupation, "Skins" stands as a short word for skinheads .
