The Albtrauf Beuren landscape protection area is a protected landscape area (LSG number 1.16.045) on the territory of the municipality of Beuren , which was designated by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the then District Office of Nürtingen on July 26, 1972 .
Location and description
The 536.3 hectare area consists of three sub-areas. On the one hand, it encompasses the entire valley south of the village between Beurener Fels and Hohenneuffen , which is divided into two side valleys with watercourses, pastures and vineyards. The second sub-area includes the forest and open spaces north of Beuren including the natural monuments Engelberg , Spitzenberg and basalt tuff quarry . The area is bounded in the northeast by the Tiefenbach valley.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the landscape of the foothills of the Alb, which is structured by small rivers and characterized by extensive orchards.
