Dettingen unter Teck is a landscape protection area with the protection area number 1.16.057 in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg .

Location and description

The landscape protection area consists of two sub-areas and is located in the area of ​​the municipality of Dettingen unter Teck to the west and south of the village. The protected area that exists today was created by ordinance of February 17, 1977. At the same time, the ordinances of the Nürtingen District Office for the protection of landscape components and parts of the landscape in the Nürtingen district of October 22, 1942 and for the protection of the Tiefenbachtal area of October 16, 1940 ceased to be in force when they concerned the areas described in the new 1977 regulation.

It belongs to the nature area 101 - foreland of the central Swabian Alb within the natural spatial main unit 10 - Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land and lies entirely in the bird sanctuary 7323-441 foreland of the central Swabian Alb . A small part of the area belongs to the FFH area 7322-311 Albvorland Nürtingen-Kirchheim. The nature reserve 1.237- Teck and the Swabian Alb biosphere area are directly adjacent.

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, an essential protection purpose is the preservation of the partly wooded, richly landscaped hilly zone in the foreland of the Swabian Alb as a valuable recreational area near the Stuttgart agglomeration and the city of Kirchheim unter Teck.
