The landscape protection area Erkenbrechtsweiler Berghalbinsel (with Hörnle and Jusi) is a landscape protection area (LSG number 1.16.026) in the area of the cities and communities Erkenbrechtsweiler , Lenningen , Beuren , Owen and designated by ordinance of the Württemberg Ministry of Education as a higher nature conservation authority of October 25, 1939 Neuffen .
Location and description
When the landscape protection area was established in 1939, it was significantly larger than it is now and stretched over 1832 hectares from Jusi near Kohlberg to the Großer Schrecke near Schlattstall. As a result of the redesignation of the nature reserves 1192 Jusi - Auf dem Berg and 1152 Oberes Lenninger Tal with side valleys as well as the landscape protection area 1.16.086 Neuffen, on the Neuffen and Kappishäuser districts , the area has been reduced to around 1115 hectares today and, in addition to the Erkenbrechtsweiler markings, also includes parts of the Albtraufs near Lenningen and Beuren.
In terms of natural space , the area belongs to the Middle Alb foreland and the Middle Kuppenalb within the main natural unit 09 - Swabian Alb . Large parts of the LSG belong to the Middle Swabian Alb bird sanctuary and the Alb FFH area between Jusi and Teck . It lies entirely in the Swabian Alb biosphere area .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is to secure and long-term preservation of the ecologically valuable area of the entire mountain peninsula Erkenbrechtsweiler with the rural cultural landscape and the Alb eaves with mixed deciduous forests. The Celtic refugee camps of the Heidengraben are also to be protected in the south of the bass violin .
