Notzingen is a protected landscape area (protected area number 1.16.080) in the Esslingen district .

Location and description

The protected area consists of three sub-areas around the municipality of Notzingen. It is a foothills landscape characterized by slopes, bank areas and orchards as a recreational area for the population. It belongs to the natural area 101- foreland of the central Swabian Alb within the natural spatial main unit 10- Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the foothills of the foothills, which is characterized in particular by slopes, bank areas and orchards. These areas determine the landscape character and are particularly valuable as natural habitats for plants and animals. Further protection purposes are the preservation of recreational space for the general public and the protection against further impairment by small buildings and enclosures.
