Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of meadows and fruit trees, sheep pastures, dry grassland, hedge landscapes and semi-natural hillside forests. These areas determine the landscape character and are particularly valuable as a natural habitat for plants and animals.

The geological and typical landscape features such as B. sinkholes, demolition crevices, quarries and the valuable heathland on the Alb eaves and on the Alb plateau require special protection in view of their various threats. In addition, the conservation as an ecological compensation and recreation area on the edge of the agglomeration is of particular importance.
