Neckar, Erms and Autmuttal in the administrative area Neckartenzlingen is a landscape protection area with the protection area number 1.16.054 in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg .

Location and description

The landscape protection area lies on the boundary of five communities in and on the edge of the Neckar valley . It also includes parts of the lower Erms and Autmuttales . The protected area that exists today was created by ordinance of August 8, 1980. At the same time, the ordinance of the Nürtingen District Office on the landscape protection area marked Wendlingen, Unterensingen, Oberboihingen, Zizishausen, Nürtingen, Neckarhausen, Neckartailfingen, Raidwangen, Altdorf, Schlaitdorf, Altenriet and Neckartenzlingen of the district Nürtingen ("Neckartal" landscape protection area) of November 20, 1958 and the ordinance of the Esslingen District Office for the temporary safeguarding of the "Pechader" landscape protection area of October 25, 1976, ceased to apply insofar as they concerned the areas described in the new 1980 ordinance.

It belongs to the natural areas 101- foreland of the central Swabian Alb 104- Schönbuch and Glemswald and 106- Filder within the natural spatial main unit 10- Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land . The nature reserve 1044- Schönrain is completely enclosed by the LSG.

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the safeguarding and long-term preservation of the ecologically highly significant open spaces between the built-up areas of the Neckar Valley and the preservation of the still free parts of the landscape, including the lower Erms and Autmuttal valleys, in the characteristic variety of their formative elements of a valley landscape, as well as their function as a recreational area for the general public.
