Areas around Nürtingen and Reudern is a protected landscape area (protected area number 1.16.027) in the Esslingen district .

Location and description

The protected area is located south of Nürtingen in the lower Tiefenbachtal including the open space between Nürtingen and the Reudern district . It extends into the urban area and includes the Ersberg plateau there. It belongs to the natural area 101 - Middle Alb foreland within the natural spatial main unit 010 - Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, an essential protection purpose is to secure the scenic and ecologically valuable valleys, slopes and ridges, in particular the preservation of the landscape-defining slopes and heights, in their natural peculiarity as open space in the agglomeration and as a recreation area for the general public.
