The landscape protection area at Unterensingen and Zizishausen is a landscape protection area (LSG number 1.16.030) in the area of the city of Nürtingen and the communities of Köngen , Oberboihingen and Unterensingen , which was designated by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the Esslingen District Office of March 25, 1985 .

Location and description

The 457 hectare area is located near Unterensingen and the Nürtingen districts of Oberensingen and Zizishausen . The nature reserves Am Rank (Röhmsee) and Grienwiesen (Schülesee) are in the immediate vicinity. The nature reserve belongs to the Middle Alb foreland .

The protected area consists of four sub-areas, the landscape areas are spatially separated by the division. There is no connection between the areas above Unterensingen and the Neckar valley with the island near the Unterensinger mill.

Protection purpose

According to the Protection Area Ordinance, the essential protection purpose is

the preservation as a local recreation area in its recreational value as well as in its scenic attraction for the general public,
the preservation of the diversity and natural character of this landscape, in particular the preservation of the streams, meadow meadows and orchards and
the preservation of open spaces in the agglomeration and the preservation of a natural habitat for plants and animals.
