The Butzenwiesen-Klebwald-Kühhalde-Letten area is a 293.3 hectare protected landscape area in the area of ​​the cities of Ostfildern and Esslingen am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg . It was expelled by ordinance of November 21, 1994. (LSG number 320238).

The 293.3 hectare nature reserve belongs to the Filder Plain and the Stuttgart Bay .

The area is divided into the four named areas:

The Butzenwiesen are in the Ruit district in Ostfildern. Likewise, the Klebwald , which also includes the Esslingen district of Weil .

The Kühhalde area is located in the north of Ostfildern, in the Parksiedlung district . This is located on the slope with a view of the Neckar Valley and includes the Bannwald Weilerhalde , the city of Esslingen am Neckar . At the entrance to the park settlement, the Panoramaweg was built in 2015 along the Kühhalde , it runs to Ruit and leads into the Klebwald .

To the east of the park settlement is the Letten area , which borders on the Ostfildern district of Nellingen . There are numerous orchards and fields here.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose of the landscape protection area is:

1. the preservation of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of still existing meadows and fruit trees as well as the wooded Neckar valley slope;
2. the securing of landscape-defining single trees and groups of trees as well as the natural deciduous forests with numerous blades. These are an important refuge for flora and fauna;
3. the preservation of the local recreation areas for the general public in the agglomeration and the protection against further impairment by small buildings and enclosures
