history
Until the 19th century
Finds from the Neolithic Age were made in the Notzingen district , and a long sword was also discovered in a row of burial grounds of the Alemanni, who gave the place its name , derived from the personal name Nozo .
Notzingen was mentioned for the first time in 1077/1078. At that time King Heinrich IV withdrew Notzingin from Count Luitold von Achalm because of his support for Rudolf von Rheinfelden . (It is not beyond doubt that it was today's Notzingen, it could also have been Orsingen -Nenzingen, near which there is a lost place called Bächlingen.) The sovereignty over Notzingen came to the Zähringer or later the Dukes of Teck . With the town of Kirchheim unter Teck , the place came to Württemberg in the 14th century , to which it has belonged ever since.
In 1360 a chapel was first mentioned on site. In 1534, Duke Ulrich of Württemberg also implemented the Reformation in Notzingen. The chapel was expanded into a church around 1620. In 1821 the parish became independent.
20th century
The Wellingen district was incorporated in 1934. In 1972 at a public hearing, 70.5% voted against the incorporation into Kirchheim unter Teck, the community remained independent.
