history

Frickenhausen 1683, forest inventory book by Andreas Kieser

Middle Ages and early modern times

From the end of the 6th to the end of the 9th century there was a center of iron production east of Frickenhausen and Linsenhofen, as indicated by smelting sites that were found here. The place name Frickenhausen is probably derived from the Alemannic personal name Fricko . For the first time in a stock book of the St. Katharina Hospital in Esslingen, 1310 Frickenhusen is mentioned . With the rule of Neuffen it came to Württemberg as early as 1303 . The old Wuerttemberg office of Neuffen now became the rule of Neuffen.

Since 1358 there was verifiably a Catholic Marienkapelle, which was elevated to a parish church in 1467, but was then replaced by a new building. This was built around 1500 as a late Gothic village church. The presumed builder was Hans Buß, who was also the builder of the Heiligkreuzkirche in Nürtingen. In 1534 today's village church in Frickenhausen became Protestant.

The most important source of income for the Frickenhäuser was viticulture. Due to epidemics, wars and bad harvests, however, it was very prone to crises. Therefore, from the middle of the 18th century, many Frickenhäuser switched to linen weaving, spinning and flax cultivation.

From the royal times to the present

Frickenhausen came to the Oberamt Nürtingen in 1806 when the new administrative structure in the Kingdom of Württemberg was implemented .

Since 1900 Frickenhausen was carried by the Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft operated Tälesbahn with the rail hub Nuertingen connected and thus had connection to the network of the Württemberg State Railways .

The administrative reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg led to membership of the newly included district of Nürtingen in 1938 .

Since Frickenhausen had become part of the American occupation zone after the Second World War , the place had belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden since 1945 , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.

In 1973 the district reform in Baden-Württemberg took place , when Frickenhausen became part of the Esslingen district .

After 1978 a larger industrial area was created in the north of Frickenhausen, in which several companies in the field of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering have settled.

Districts

Tischardt

Tischardt

The municipality of Tischardt was incorporated into the municipality of Frickenhausen on April 15, 1972. Tischardt was created as a forest clearing settlement, which is also indicated by the word Hard or Hardt = wood in the name. The place is mentioned for the first time together with Frickenhausen in a warehouse book of the St. Katharina Hospital in Esslingen am Neckar in 1310. The coat of arms, adopted in 1923, shows a silver table in a blue shield, behind which there are three silver trees.

Linsenhofen

Linsenhofen

Linsenhofen came to Frickenhausen on January 1, 1975 through incorporation. In 1137 Linsenhofen was first mentioned in the Zwiefalter Chronicle . In the document, among other things, the donation of two Huben Land in Lisinhofen to the Zwiefalten monastery is noted. The local coat of arms can be proven since 1778. Two men can be seen on a seal, holding a grape between them. The Linsenhöfer proverbially say: “ Joshua and Caleb carry away a grape!” (Cf. Numbers / Num 13,23  EU ). The coat of arms was officially confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg shortly before the incorporation, namely on December 11, 1973.

Religions

Frickenhausen has been evangelical since the Reformation , which took place in Württemberg in 1534. Today there is a Protestant parish in each of the three sub-towns that belong to the Nürtingen parish of the Evangelical Regional Church . In the central town of Frickenhausen, a Roman Catholic parish emerged again after the war, which built the church of St. Nicholas von der Flüe in 1965 and has had its own parish since 1967. The Roman Catholic community belongs to the Esslingen-Nürtingen deanery of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese . A New Apostolic congregation has also been established for a number of years.

politics

coat of arms

The Frickenhausen coat of arms is described in the Heimatbuch des Kreis Nürtingen from 1953 as follows: It shows in a silver shield a black Dieterich with the hook turned down and turned to the right. It has been traceable in a similar form (with the hook turned upwards) on the community seal since 1799 and probably goes back to an old stain mark that could be modeled on the coat of arms of the medieval Speth family . Other interpretations see in the hook a catching iron of a wolf's trap, still others a modified abbot's staff or the pickaxe of an early medieval archcutter. The coat of arms was officially confirmed to the community on July 25, 1955 by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior. In addition, she was given the right to fly a flag in black and white (silver).

Water supply

The supply of the population with sufficient and clean water used to be a big problem. In 1960 the water supply from its own sources was stopped and Frickenhausen was only supplied with external water from the Blau-Lauter Group. Only since 1975, when Frickenhausen and Tischardt were connected to the Lake Constance water supply via the Blau-Lauter Group , has the issue of supply been reliably resolved. In 1994 the Zweckverband Blau Lauter Group merged with the Zweckverband Landeswasserversorgung . Today the water supply in both districts is additionally ensured by the construction of high water tanks in Linsenhofen.

Waste disposal

The waste management company of the Esslingen district is responsible for waste disposal. There are separate collections for organic waste , household waste and paper. As part of the Green Dot, packaging is collected in so-called yellow bags . Bulky waste can be picked up free of charge by handing in one of two vouchers a year, or it can be taken to a disposal station. Electrical and metal scrap and other recyclable materials can also be disposed of at the disposal stations. There are special collections of problematic substances for hazardous waste such as fluorescent lamps and paint.
