history

Administration and company headquarters until 1993 at Kißlingstrasse 20 in Nürtingen

Wilhelm Bock and Hans Göldner founded their company in Stuttgart in 1932 . The original business idea was to install and repair refrigeration systems. In 1937 the company moved to a larger factory building in Nürtingen and began to produce itself.

In 1938, Hans Göldner left the company and Hugo Bock joined as a partner, making the company Bock & Co. KG. In 1939 Erich Etter, Wilhelm Bock's brother-in-law, joined the company. In 1955, Bock had a new production branch built in Frickenhausen , which was continuously enlarged in several construction phases. Finally, in the 1990s, a new administration and testing department was built in Frickenhausen and the Nürtingen location was given up. Frickenhausen thus became the company's headquarters.

Since the 1960s, the company has been one of the pioneers in car air conditioning and developed and built the first car air conditioning systems "Made in Germany", which were not only installed in luxury cars, but also the VW Beetle with a Bock air conditioning system be equipped.

In 1986 there was a generation change in the company management and Wolfgang Etter (son of Erich Etter) took over the technical management, Heinrich Reuss (son-in-law of Wilhelm Bock) was appointed commercial manager.

In December 2009, the company was awarded the BMU award "Climate Protection with Refrigeration" from the German Federal Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen for its EFC (Electronic Frequency Control System) system.
