Tokyo One Piece Tower

Tokyo One Piece Tower is an indoor amusement park for the Japanese manga series One Piece . It opened on March 13, 2015 and is located in Tokyo Tower . It has undergone partial renovation since it opened and reopened on June 18, 2016.

It offers games and attractions based on the characters of the Straw Hat Pirate gang from One Piece, entertainment shows, merchandise shops, restaurants and changing events and campaigns.

The basic concept of the whole park is an island of the New World called "Tongari Island" (ト ン ガ リ 島, ト ン ガ リ means "pointed" in this case, based on the shape of the Tokyo Tower), which the straw hat pirates visit and there games for their fans and the Host islanders. The leader of the island is Tongari Teleschnecke, which appears every now and then and acts as a leader for some attractions.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic , the indoor amusement park was closed on February 28, but it did not resume operations as planned. On July 4, 2020, it was announced that Tokyo One Piece Tower will finally close its doors on July 31, 2020 after more than five years.

Attractions and games

Tongari Island lantern

360 Log Theater - The World of One Piece

This is an experimental attraction located at the entrance to the park and which visitors see first. The adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates from the One Piece Manga are projected onto a 360 ° wall.

Luffy's Endless Adventure

This is a walktrough attraction that shows the adventure story of the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy , and his comrades. She's on the fifth floor. There are life-size statues of the characters, miniatures and display boards. There is also a movie theater that shows an original story that can only be seen in Tokyo Tower.

Zoro's Soul of Edge

This is an interactive game based on the character Lorenor Zorro. Inside is a dojo built by Zorro and the player must try to smash cannonballs of the navy on a screen using Zorro's skills. Some swords from the One Piece world are also on display.

Nami's Casino House

This is an interactive attraction based on the gang's navigator, Nami. It is a casino game where the game must wager a certain amount of berry, the currency of the One Piece world, in order to win a three point match. The winner receives a VIP card.

Usopp's Road to Sogeking

This is an interactive game based on the character Usopp. The player must shoot marines with a slingshot, Usopp's primary weapon for part of the story. The final enemy is the world government.

Chopper's Thousand Sunny Tours

This is an interactive tour attraction led by character Tony Chopper. The whole attraction mimics the interior of the Straw Hat Pirates' second ship, the Thousand Sunny. It includes the kitchen and dining area, Nami's and Robin's bedrooms, and other space.

Robin's Finding Ponegliff

This is an interactive game based on the character Nico Robin. It involves the whole park, whereby the player gets a transponder screw and has to find many old letters which are spread over the whole park. Just to discover an old porn glyph at the end.

Franky's Park

This is a section for the ship craftsman, Franky character. There is a pinball machine called "Frankys Ball Run" in Franksy body shape, a colorful children's area with toys and a small café called "Frankys Cola Bar" which offers small dishes.

Brook's Horror House

This is a scary house based on the character Brook. The player is given a salt ball (塩 玉) to defeat a zombie inside the attraction.

Tongari Island Photo Spots

There are a few places in the park for taking photos with life-size statues, portraits, and special exhibits.

Live show

There is also a live show where the One Piece characters, played by actors, perform an adventure story live on stage. There are around four to six events per day. The story changes every season.

Shops and restaurants

Tongari Store

This is a merchandise shop within the park that sells exclusive items that are unique to Tokyo Tower.

One Piece Mugiwara Store

This is an official merchandise store which is outside the park on the ground floor of Tokyo Tower. He also sells items related to One Piece, some of which are exclusive to Tokyo Tower.

Mugiwara cafe

This is a library café located on the first floor of the tower. He offers dishes and drinks inspired by One Piece. There are also books and comics about One Piece for guests to read.

Sanji's Oresama Restaurant

This is a restaurant run by the Straw Hat Pirate chef, Sanji. It is located on the first floor next to the Mugiwara Café. It offers a buffet style from 11am to 3pm and a card style from 3pm to 8pm.

“Oresama (俺 様)” is a narcissistic way of saying “I” in Japanese, as used by Sanji in One Piece. (Literally: “The dear me.”) A statue of him stands between the café and the restaurant.

The interior mimics some things from One Piece, like a ship's mast, prison bars, and more.
