history

The band was founded in Mannheim in 2014 . It initially consisted of singer Jennifer haben , the two guitarists Christopher Hummels and Nils Lesser, keyboardist Michael Hauser, bassist Erwin Schmidt and drummer Tobias Derer. Except for Jennifer haben and Christopher Hummels, all musicians studied at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg . The sextet had their first live performances at Wacken Open Air 2014 after the organizers of the music festival had heard some demo recordings of the band. This was followed by appearances at the Hamburg Metal Dayz Festival (November 2014) and as the opening act for Saxon in Great Britain (February 2015).

On February 13, 2015, the group's debut album, Songs of Love and Death , was released. It was produced by Sascha Paeth from Avantasia . A week later, on February 20, 2015, the band performed the song In the Shadows on Sat.1 breakfast television . On May 10, 2015, Jennifer haben appeared on the ZDF television garden with the song Love Me Forever . From May 13th to 16th, 2015 the band completed their first club tour through Germany, followed by an appearance at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen on May 23rd, 2015 in Leipzig . On May 31, 2015 the band played in Gelsenkirchen at Rock im Revier . Christopher Hummels and Jennifer haben performed at Wacken Open Air 2015 together with Rock Meets Classic . In December of the same year, Beyond The Black announced that they would be accompanying the Scorpions on the German dates of their 50th Anniversary World Tour. At the same time, the second album Lost in Forever was announced, which was released on February 12, 2016. In July 2016 it was announced on the band's website that Jennifer haben and the rest of the band's musicians would split up, but would keep the set tour dates.

The new permanent line-up for the band was announced in early November 2016. On January 13, 2017, the band's second album was re-released as a tour edition containing four additional songs. In spring 2018, keyboardist Jonas Roßner left the band for private reasons. On August 31, 2018, the album Heart of the Hurricane was released. At the end of 2018 they accompanied the symphonic metal band Within Temptation at concerts in Germany. On December 26th, 2018 the band performed at the demon dance of the band Hämatom in the music center in Trockau. In 2019 the band went on a European tour with the album Heart of the Hurricane and released a black edition of the album with three new songs as well as a video for the song Through the Mirror.
