history

In the Prussian first recording from 1844, the place to live is unmarked. In 1832 Krabbenhäuschen belonged to the Witzhelden parish of the Burscheid mayor . The place, categorized as Kotten according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential house and an agricultural building at the time. At that time, nine people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . Crab house was on the border, the neighboring town of Metzholz was already in the Leichlingen mayor's office . In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 a house with nine inhabitants is given. In 1895 the place had a house with five residents, in 1905 one house and three residents.

On January 1, 1975, the community of Witzhelden was incorporated into Leichlingen with its crab houses.
