Kuhle is a village in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district that emerged from a court .

Location and description

Kuhle is located in the Wupper valley north of the center of Leichlingen on Kreisstraße 1 in the natural spatial unit of Lower Wuppertal . The nearby river forms the city limits to Solingen .

Neighboring towns are the immediately adjacent Kradenpuhl , Nesselrath , Altenhof , Scheidt , Bertenrath , Hülstrung and Unterberg on this side of the Wupper and Müllerhof on the other side of the Wuppers. In the Solingen urban area, in addition to Horn, there are the neighboring towns of Gosse , Rupelrath and Hütte . Wüst has fallen Büchel house .

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm under the name Kuhl . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 record the place as Kuhle and Kuhlen .

In 1815/16 43 people lived in the village. In 1832 Kuhle belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, which was categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had eleven residential buildings and twelve agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 55 people lived in the place, two of them Catholic and 53 Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, twelve houses with 55 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had twelve houses with 52 inhabitants, in 1905 13 houses and 75 inhabitants.
